Riding the Wind and Breaking the Waves, Forging Elite Water Rescue Troops!

Recently, the Hechi Detachment of the People's Armed Police Guangxi General Corps, in response to the realities of its jurisdiction—characterized by high mountains, deep valleys, swift river channels, and frequent and recurring flood conditions—continuously organized combat-oriented rescue drills in complex waters, encompassing assault boat operation, water search and rescue, and civilian evacuation.

The drills were set against the backdrop of heavy rainfall causing sudden surges in river water levels and civilians falling into the water and becoming trapped, simulating emergency hazards such as rapids and dense obstacles. Participating officers and soldiers moved immediately upon receiving orders, rapidly boarding their vessels, and completed courses including curved-channel obstacle avoidance, fixed-point hovering, and formation cruising in rapid currents. Simultaneously, they conducted combat-oriented responses including precision search and rescue, life-ring throwing, rapid evacuation, and waterborne escort—throughout the exercise remaining closely aligned with the mission, closely aligned with actual combat, and closely aligned with the hazards at hand (紧贴任务、紧贴实战、紧贴险情). The drills comprehensively tempered officers' and soldiers' capabilities in rapid response, professional handling, and coordinated operations (协同作战).
