The 19th Military Summer Camp for Hong Kong Youth and 13th Military Camp for Hong Kong tertiary students closed August 16 at San Wai Barracks, with more than 400 participants completing 14 days of foot drill, physical training, and hands-on exposure to Army, Navy, and Air Force equipment from the PLA Hong Kong Garrison; cumulative enrollment across the program's history now exceeds 9,000 students. This is standard political-military youth outreach; its value is as a longitudinal record of the Garrison's institutionalized effort to build national defense awareness (国防意识) among Hong Kong youth, now running across 19 annual cycles since the handover.

The Chinese PLA Hong Kong Garrison continues to update the forms and content of these activities to help Hong Kong students enhance their sense of responsibility for protecting the country and strengthen their national defense awareness.
