United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Force Commander Wu Junhui attended the ceremony and presented Force Commander Commendations to 31 officers and soldiers in recognition of their outstanding contributions in carrying out peacekeeping missions.

At the ceremony, all officers and soldiers stood in neat formation with upright bearing. Wu Junhui spoke highly of the overall work of the peacekeeping infantry battalion. It is reported that since deploying to the mission area, the 12th Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to South Sudan (Juba) has cumulatively carried out more than 90 authorized missions including joint patrols and armed escorts. At the same time, the peacekeeping officers and soldiers have actively conducted humanitarian assistance, safeguarding peace and stability in the mission area through concrete action, earning high praise from UNMISS and local residents, and fully demonstrating the commitment and dedication of the Chinese Blue Helmets.

"This commendation award is both a strong affirmation by UNMISS of the Chinese peacekeeping officers and soldiers' effective fulfillment of their mission, and a weighty responsibility and spur to further action," said Lu Jinfang, commander of the peacekeeping infantry battalion. He stated that all officers and soldiers will transform this honor into a powerful driving force for fulfilling their duties and responsibilities, and contribute greater Chinese strength to safeguarding world peace.
