Wang Wenbin, a senior engineer in an unspecified unit under the Information Support Force (ISF), is profiled as a cyber and information defense specialist who has spent over a decade developing network protection methods, earning three second-class military science and technology progress awards and one first-class merit citation. The article documents his team's growth from two to more than twenty personnel and credits him with innovating more than ten 战法技法 (tactical and technical methods) for cyber defense, including an in-exercise system upgrade following a command-link compromise during a joint exercise. As a profile in the ISF's 'Finest Faces' series, this is institutional recognition content; its analytical value is as a record of how the ISF frames cyber defense work — emphasizing continuous in-operation innovation (边作战边创新边优化) and talent development — rather than as evidence of a specific capability shift, with the unit's identity, location, and the exercises referenced left unspecified.

"Anomalous data flow!" Suddenly, an alert message shattered the silence. Senior Engineer Wang Wenbin immediately assessed and responded — comparing signatures, locking onto the target, tracing the source back to its origin… Within a short time, a covert probing attack had been successfully neutralized.

Winning the contest on the invisible battlefield (博弈制胜无形战场) and safeguarding cybersecurity and information security (网络信息安全) is a distillation of Wang Wenbin's work over more than a decade.

In 2011, Wang Wenbin enlisted after completing his doctoral degree at a civilian university. Years of deep study in cyber and information technology sharpened his awareness: "Cyberspace has become an important battlefield in modern warfare — we must seize the technological high ground."

Rooted at the front lines of the cyber and information domain (网信疆场), Wang Wenbin has actively explored new models of cyber and information defense, innovated more than ten tactical and technical methods (战法技法), and effectively advanced the enhancement of combat capability. He has received three second-class awards for military science and technology progress, one first-class merit citation, and one third-class merit citation.

"Maintaining cyber and information security is a contest without gunsmoke — only by achieving absolute certainty can we prevent a single failure from becoming a catastrophic one (万无一失,方能杜绝一失万无)!" This is a phrase Wang Wenbin often has on his lips. Facing threats such as covert infiltration and malicious attacks, he adheres to the approach of "fighting, innovating, and optimizing simultaneously" (边作战边创新边优化), working to connect the chain from "technological innovation" to "the capability to win," and leading his team in building an impregnable cyber and information security barrier.

During one joint exercise, the layering of complex network environments rendered conventional protective measures ineffective, and alarms on the command link sounded repeatedly. Wang Wenbin led his team through an all-night investigation, ultimately eliminating the threat and stabilizing the situation. Once the mission concluded, he led the team in reviewing the data line by line, breaking down signatures, and running through scenarios, successfully iterating and upgrading the protection system and substantially improving operational effectiveness.

"One person can run fast; only a group of people can run far." As the leader of his team, Wang Wenbin has consistently regarded mentoring core technical personnel as a critical task in team building. He has implemented a "mentorship-plus-tasking" (导师制+任务制) development model, proactively assigning tasks to young engineers and building platforms for them. Today, his team has grown from an initial two people to more than twenty, producing dozens of innovative technical results.

From the snowfields of the northern frontier to the dense forests of the southern lands, from the northwestern Gobi to the shores of the East China Sea… Over the years, Wang Wenbin has led his team to frontline units across the services and arms and to the scenes of major military operations. "This is a race against time — every second bears on victory or defeat!" he said.
