During the visit to Indonesia, the formation's commander called on Indonesian military and government leaders. Visiting trainees and officers and soldiers went to the Indonesian Naval Academy to participate in a friendship sports meet and jointly held a cultural salon with Indonesian naval cadets. The two sides also organized ship mutual visits, symposiums, and exchange activities. While the formation was berthed at Tanjung Perak Port, local residents, overseas Chinese, and Indonesian military representatives boarded the Qi Jiguang and Kunlunshan to tour the vessels and gain a close-up understanding of Chinese Navy ships and maritime culture. This series of exchange activities built a platform for mutual learning and mutual reference (互学互鉴), advancing the continued deepening and substantive development of China-Indonesia military-to-military relations and further consolidating the traditional friendship between the two countries.
At the invitation of the Indonesian Navy, after departing Tanjung Perak Port, the formation conducted maritime joint training with the Indonesian Navy.
