What exactly is new about the new-type Army (新型陆军)?
What is new is that they are able to reach
anywhere they are needed—
the ground, the sky, the ocean.

but being able to see far is not enough.

One after another, "dragon roars" (龙吟) swept across the sky,

Officers and soldiers of an Army brigade's long-range box-launched rocket (远箱火) unit
have been stationed at front-line positions for more than four years.
In the smoke of training and redeployment,
under the test of major missions,
they have been tempered through hardship and grown ever stronger.
The four characters "East Sea Flying Dragon" (东海飞龙)
were earned by jumping from a thousand meters in the sky,
by feeling one's way up through the dark currents of the deep sea,
by fighting one's way out through a hail of bullets.
Live ammunition is used in combat—
live ammunition must also be used in training.
To forge the skill to defeat the enemy with a single blow,
daily training must be pushed to the absolute limit of approximating actual combat (实战).
Today's amphibious forces
have shed the old appearance of massed assault formations.
The iron torrent has transformed into flexible elite troops.
Multiple arms of service fight shoulder to shoulder,
galloping across land and sea battlefields in an entirely new form.
To become a qualified "Infantry-plus" (步兵+),
one must keep pace with the renewal of concepts,
the development of equipment, and the advancement of technology.
Amphibious landing operations today
have long since surpassed the binary integration of infantry-armor coordination (步坦协同).
The air assault brigade is an air-ground integrated,
all-domain mobile light combined-arms force (轻型合成力量).
They are not constrained by mountains or rivers.
They can launch three-dimensional vertical strikes (立体垂直打击) from any direction.
They are the first-use force for the Army's assault operations (突击作战).
They are like a thunderclap,
delivering a lethal blow to the enemy
at the moment the enemy least expects it.
They carry the mission of winning wars (胜战使命).
Rooted in one exercise and training ground after another, repeatedly forged,
they need only a single order
to hold the line, seize the objective, and win the fight.
They are ready at any moment to rush to the battlefield.

premieres starting July 30
on CCTV-1, China Central Television's Comprehensive Channel,
at the 20:00 time slot,
with replays on the National Defense and Military Channel CCTV-7.
It will be simultaneously released on
the China Military (中国军号) client app,
China Military new-media platforms,
major central news websites and key portal websites,
and platforms including "CCTV News," "CCTV Video,"
"Xuexi Qiangguo" (学习强国), and "Xuexi Qiangjun" (学习强军).
