Photo Gallery | A Unit of the Naval Aviation University Conducts Multi-Subject Flight Training

Formation Flight. In the summer heat, at the command of a control tower officer, several warplanes at a certain airfield spiraled into the sky, formed up, and flew toward a target maritime and air zone — a multi-subject flight training exercise of a unit of the Naval Aviation University had opened its battle curtain.

Above the clouds, aerial combat engagements were in full swing in the air combat maneuvering airspace. The Red and Blue forces traded blows, matching wits and courage, with offensive and defensive roles shifting back and forth multiple times.

Afterward, the participating warplanes returned to base to conduct land-based simulated carrier-landing training. Upon completion of training, pilots immediately entered the debrief room to review and analyze situational awareness, formation coordination, and the management of aerial refueling conditions, and to formulate targeted corrective measures — ensuring that with each flight, tactical and technical proficiency advances a step further.

Lined Up on the Runway. A flight instructor from the unit stated that they consistently uphold the principle of letting combat lead training and educating personnel for combat (以战领训、为战育人), and are exploring and opening up pathways for joint training across services (跨军种) and across platforms (跨平台). They organize and carry out subject training in aerial combat maneuvering, aerial refueling, and formation flight under conditions of increased difficulty and strict standards, strengthening tactical literacy and joint thinking (联合思维), and laying a solid foundation for enhancing the capability to win battles.
