A brigade of the 73rd Group Army has institutionalized a program called the 'Red Lecture Hall,' in which individual soldiers—such as aviation mechanic Cai Zhengqian—return from leave at red-themed historical sites and deliver ideological talks to their unit, supplemented by a 'Red Micro-Lesson' video column on the Strong Military Network (强军网) and joint teaching bases with local venues. This is standard political work content; its value is as a record of how a aviation-capable brigade under the Eastern Theater's 73rd Group Army frames the 铸魂 ('forging the soul') function of Party history education as a direct driver of individual training performance, using the Yi Wenbo anecdote to link ideological input to measurable skill outcomes. The article's reference to completed tasks—helicopter low-altitude sea penetration and multi-branch confrontation training—is incidental framing rather than operational reporting, and unit strength, location, and exercise context remain unspecified.

PLA Daily News, reported by Zhuo Yingchao and Xiao Xuan: "During the Long March, 17 brave warriors braved a hail of bullets to force a crossing of the Dadu River, breaking through a defensive line the enemy regarded as an impassable natural barrier…" In the height of summer, a new session of the "Red Lecture Hall" opened in a brigade of the 73rd Group Army. Aviation mechanic Cai Zhengqian took the podium and, drawing on videos he recorded while visiting red-themed venues during his leave, shared his reflections and insights from studying the history of the Party and the military.

"To drive education deep into the mind and heart, 'vitality' is an effective means." The brigade's leadership explained that red-themed venues are landmarks of faith, rich in spiritual nourishment, and that the artifacts and photographs within them are vivid materials for carrying out ideological and political education. To fully bring into play the role of red resources in forging the soul (铸魂) and cultivating personnel, they explored the establishment of the "Red Lecture Hall," encouraging officers and soldiers to "check in" at red-themed venues across the country during leave, family visits, and study tours, and upon returning to their units to take the podium and share their reflections and insights based on what they saw, heard, and thought.

In practice, the brigade has innovated educational formats and broadened educational approaches: relying on the Strong Military Network (强军网) to launch a "Red Micro-Lesson" column, regularly uploading videos of red stories and high-quality instructional content for officers and soldiers to study at any time; combining education plans with actual mission requirements to routinely carry out activities such as "Red Stories, Told by Me," encouraging exemplary individuals and advanced role models nearby to share feelings and reflections based on their mission experiences, thereby stimulating the initiative and enthusiasm of officers and soldiers to participate in education; and fully leveraging the advantages of local red resources by jointly establishing teaching and practice bases with local red-themed venues, so that officers and soldiers can replenish their spiritual calcium (补足精神之钙) through tracing roots, seeking origins, and learning history to understand principles.

Not long ago, new recruit Yi Wenbo, unable to adapt to high-intensity training, went through a period of flagging motivation. After repeatedly listening to red stories told by comrades around him, Yi Wenbo was deeply moved and resolved to learn from his predecessors, dedicating himself to his post to sharpen military skills and strengthen capabilities. Thereafter, Yi Wenbo proactively anchored himself to the training ground, studying diligently and training hard, and achieved excellent scores in multiple subjects. "Revolutionary forebears gave their lives without hesitation for victory. I must absolutely not fail to live up to their glory—I will refine my specialty and strengthen my skills," Yi Wenbo said with deep feeling when speaking of his hard-won results.

"Since the 'Red Lecture Hall' was established, session after session of red education classes—classes with warmth, grounded in reality, and tempered to forge fighting spirit (砺士气)—have steeled the officers and soldiers' resolve to render meritorious service in the military and ignited everyone's enthusiasm for sharpening military skills and strengthening capabilities." The brigade's leadership noted that, nourished by red resources, officers and soldiers are united as one and morale is high; they have successfully completed major tasks including helicopter low-altitude penetration over the sea and multi-branch-of-service confrontation training.
