Not long ago, a flight training session at a PLA Navy unit had just concluded when an after-action review and discussion immediately got underway. Officers and soldiers engaged in spirited discussion centered on the important statements in "Xi Jinping on Strengthening and Developing the Military (Volume IV)" regarding accelerating the improvement of the force's modernization level and ability to win, and in conjunction with actual training conditions, identified problems and formulated improvement measures for the next phase.
"Advancing the cause of strengthening the military in the new era requires the correct guidance of scientific theory." The unit's leadership introduced that they have incorporated the study of "Xi Jinping on Strengthening and Developing the Military (Volume IV)" as a key component, integrating it into the Party committee's theoretical study center group sessions, cadre theoretical rotation training, and the unit's ideological and political education plan. They have adopted a model of Party committee-led study, grassroots research-based study, and individual self-study to help officers and soldiers deeply study and carefully comprehend the military philosophy and methodology contained in Xi Jinping's Thought on Strengthening the Military. During study, members of the unit Party committee standing body took the lead in reading the original works, studying the original texts, and internalizing the original principles, conducting focused discussions on themes including political development of the military (政治建军) and system-of-systems operations (体系作战); organs relied on the Strong Military Network (强军网) to build an online study platform for the convenience of officers and soldiers in timely study; and grassroots units used intervals between training sessions and other opportunities to organize officers and soldiers to share experiences and reflections in connection with actual mission conditions, genuinely improving the quality and effectiveness of study.
"The entire purpose of study lies in application." The unit's leadership stated that they have combined theoretical study with solving difficult training problems, guiding officers and soldiers to put effort into truly understanding, thoroughly grasping, and faithfully implementing, and striving to transform the results of study into a powerful force for guiding practice and driving work forward. In practice, the unit requires leading cadres to proactively take on assigned topics and conduct in-depth research into the tactics and training methods for key and difficult subjects; it organizes officers and soldiers to conduct discussions and analysis centered on combat-realistic subjects from the standpoint of their own posts, guiding everyone to deepen their understanding through specific tasks and consciously apply the Party's innovative theories to solve the difficult problems of training troops and preparing for war; and it emphasizes integrating the glorious history of battle into theoretical study, educating officers and soldiers to draw the strength to forge ahead from the deeds of their predecessors, and further solidifying their conviction to render meritorious service at their posts.
The deeper the study, the more resolute the action. Not long ago, a certain brigade (大队) of the unit organized night training. Confronting challenges including the high difficulty of carrier-based aircraft takeoffs and landings and the complex operational environment in distant seas, officers and soldiers were full of fighting spirit. Keeping their sights fixed on the demands of the future battlefield, they concentrated their efforts on tackling key and difficult subjects such as night carrier landings and coordinated strikes in complex electromagnetic environments, systematically refined multiple tactical methods and approaches, and concretely advanced the transformation of study results into combat effectiveness.

In recent days, from airport runways to distant-sea airspace, from command shelters to the front lines of support, the unit's officers and soldiers have concretely transformed their enthusiasm for study into a powerful driving force for training troops and preparing for war, continuously generating a rising tide of combat-realistic training.
