CCG vessels Changshan and Wuhu departed Qingdao on July 27 for a 45-day high-seas fisheries enforcement patrol in the North Pacific, with boarding inspections and IUU crackdowns as the stated operational focus. The article's repeated invocation of 大国担当 (great-power responsibility) frames the deployment as a legitimacy claim in global ocean governance rather than a purely operational report. The patrol fits an established pattern of CCG presence in the North Pacific during peak fishing season, but the two-vessel named formation and the explicit 45-day timeline provide useful baseline data on deployment scale and duration.

On July 27, a vessel formation composed of China Coast Guard ships Changshan and Wuhu departed from Qingdao to carry out a 45-day high-seas fisheries enforcement patrol mission in the North Pacific. The mission is aimed at fulfilling obligations under international conventions, maintaining order in North Pacific high-seas fishery production, conserving high-seas fishery ecological resources, and fully demonstrating our country's great-power responsibility (大国担当) in actively participating in global ocean governance and proactively assuming responsibility for the conservation of high-seas fishery resources.

During the mission, the China Coast Guard will, in accordance with relevant international conventions and agreements, conduct all-around, multi-dimensional enforcement inspections, strengthen high-seas boarding inspections, severely crack down on illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities, and effectively maintain high-seas fishery production order and promote the sustainable development of fishery resources.
