Floods Strike Multiple Locations in Guangxi as People's Armed Police Officers and Soldiers Rapidly Deploy for Emergency Rescue
Under the sustained influence of Typhoon Maysak (No. 10 of 2026), multiple areas including Nanning, Qinzhou, Guigang, and Fangchenggang in Guangxi experienced continuous heavy rainfall from July 4 to 6, triggering regional flooding disasters. Serious waterlogging occurred in some townships, river levels rose sharply, multiple reservoirs encountered dangerous conditions, and the lives and property of the people faced severe threats. At this critical moment, People's Armed Police (PAP) officers and soldiers moved the instant the order was given, advancing toward danger, rushing to each heavily affected location, and throwing themselves fully into flood prevention and emergency rescue operations.
The intense rainfall caused severe damage to multiple areas including Pingxin Village and Naqing Village in Jiulong Town, Qinnan District, Qinzhou City, with large numbers of residents trapped in their homes and unable to travel. After receiving the rescue order, officers and soldiers of the PAP Qinzhou Detachment rapidly assembled and rushed to the disaster site carrying professional rescue equipment including assault boats and life jackets. Upon arriving in the mission area, the officers and soldiers immediately conducted on-site assessments of water conditions and road situations, quickly demarcated dangerous warning zones, and—targeting deep-water inundation areas and areas with concentrated residential populations—carried out comprehensive search and rescue operations through a method of house-by-house canvassing, sector-by-sector advancement, and batch-by-batch evacuation.
At the rescue site, murky floodwaters submerged streets and lanes, and passage conditions were extremely poor. The officers and soldiers pressed forward in the face of difficulty, wading through the water, prioritizing the evacuation of the elderly, children, and special groups with limited mobility, patiently calming the emotions of affected residents, and in an orderly manner guiding and escorting trapped persons to safe shelter points. After continuous day-and-night operations, the detachment has cumulatively safely evacuated and rescued more than 460 trapped residents.

On July 6, sustained heavy rainfall caused a serious emergency at Liulan Reservoir in Hengzhou City, Nanning. To rapidly bring the situation under control and rescue trapped residents, the PAP Guangxi General Command Nanning Detachment urgently deployed more than 160 officers and soldiers and 14 rescue vehicles, carrying a full complement of rescue supplies including assault boats, life-saving equipment, and emergency communications gear, and rushed to the front line. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers and soldiers quickly coordinated with local emergency management, fire, water conservancy, and other functional departments; conducted real-time assessments of rising water levels; determined the distribution of trapped persons; and investigated road passage hazards. They divided into multiple groups to simultaneously carry out personnel search and rescue, emergency situation management, and supplies transfer operations.

The officers and soldiers participating in the disaster relief operations showed no fear of hardship and fought through the night, holding lighting equipment while piloting boats through turbid waves on patrol inspections, conducting dragnet-style searches, and searching village by village and household by household for stranded residents, safely escorting affected residents throughout the entire process to temporary shelter points. Through the unrelenting efforts of the officers and soldiers participating in the disaster relief, the PAP Guangxi General Command Nanning Detachment has cumulatively safely evacuated more than 130 trapped residents, escorted 4 medical personnel into the core disaster-affected area to carry out treatment work, and provided emergency on-site treatment to 8 injured residents.

At present, the follow-on effects of Typhoon Maysak continue. All officers and soldiers remain on standby at all times to respond to various sudden emergencies, maintaining continuous presence on the front line of flood prevention and emergency rescue.
