Our Navy's Vessel Formation 83 Arrives in Russia for a Friendly Visit
PLA Daily, Vladivostok, June 23 — Reported by Zheng Hongsheng and correspondent Xu Lin: China's Navy Vessel Formation 83, currently executing a far-sea comprehensive training and visit mission, arrived at the port of Vladivostok, Russia, on the 23rd, commencing a four-day friendly visit to Russia.
At approximately 0900 local time on the 23rd, the Chinese Navy vessels Qi Jiguang and Kunlunshan slowly came alongside the Vladivostok port wharf to warm applause. Officers and enlisted personnel were drawn up in formation by section on deck, waving to the welcoming crowd. More than 200 people came to the wharf to receive them, including staff from the Chinese Consulate General in Vladivostok, representatives of local overseas Chinese, Chinese-funded institutions, and students studying abroad, as well as representative officers and enlisted personnel of the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet.
During the visit, Chinese Navy officers and enlisted personnel will tour the Russian destroyer Marshal Shaposhnikov and the Pacific Fleet Museum, and will conduct professional, cultural, and sports exchange activities with Russian Navy officers and enlisted personnel. The Qi Jiguang and Kunlunshan will also hold ship open-house events and deck receptions.
