PLA Daily report by correspondents Fan Enda and special correspondent Qi Xucong: New-type artillery tempers its edge on the plateau, unmanned aerial vehicles patrol the skies, data links connect across all domains, and fire units precisely lock onto the "enemy"… Not long ago, on a plateau training ground, a certain brigade of the Tibet Military District focused on generating new-quality combat capabilities and conducted various training activities in an orderly manner.

New forces are accelerating their entry into the order of battle, new equipment is being fielded in a continuous stream, new tactics and methods of warfare are steadily taking hold… In recent days, reporters visited multiple exercise and training sites on the high-altitude front line and observed that units are focusing on actual combat requirements, continuously reforming training concepts, upgrading training methods, and reshaping the training landscape. A vivid scene of intensive combat readiness training has unfolded, with new-quality combat capabilities accelerating their accumulation and generation on the high-altitude front line.

From "waiting for orders" to "seizing the moment," officers and soldiers of the 1st Battalion of a certain Rocket Force brigade have abandoned traditional training methods, conducting more than ten realistic combat-oriented training subjects in a continuous track-style sequence, putting into practice the spirit of high-altitude Rocket Force soldiers through the conscious pursuit of "one second faster in speed, one point greater in the odds of victory." From "passive adaptation" to "active adaptation," a certain Air Force unit, in combination with the special high-altitude environment, has made targeted modifications to key systems of its combat aircraft, precisely matching high-altitude characteristics and actual mission requirements, and has concentrated on drilling subjects such as extreme maneuvering, low-altitude penetration, and ground attack, maximizing the excavation of equipment's combat potential.

Upgrading training methods, technology empowerment activates a "new engine" of combat power. Inside simulation training cabins, officers and soldiers of a certain regiment of the Xinjiang Military District "drive" equipment vehicles over high-altitude mountain passes (达坂), with weather conditions, time periods, and road conditions switching randomly, forging their skills to fight and win through immersive training. On the training ground of a certain detachment of the People's Armed Police Tibet General Corps, infrared unmanned aerial vehicles conduct overhead reconnaissance and precise positioning, intelligent robot dogs charge forward in assault, and unmanned equipment is deeply coupled with individual soldier combat, building a solid and efficient security barrier through intelligentized (智能化) training… Each unit is exploring pathways to generate new-quality combat capabilities, continuously advancing the new "intelligent+" (智能+) training model, and driving high-altitude training toward a leap to intelligent and precision training.

At a certain position, the Gangbala Radar Station of a certain Air Force unit has used technological means to achieve a remote off-site duty mode, with officers and soldiers' combat positions moved down more than one thousand meters in altitude. No longer distracted by coping with the harsh environment, they are able to invest more energy in combat readiness duty and combat power enhancement, routinely conducting networked adversarial exercises and live-equipment training, with the unit's rapid mobility capability and early warning capability markedly improved.

Reshaping the training landscape, systems-based (体系) joint action concentrates "new momentum" for victory. A certain Air Force unit has proactively integrated into the system, engaging in adversarial exercises against fighter aviation units that have come to conduct temporary training, sparring against various types of unmanned aerial vehicles, continuously forging hard anti-jamming skills in electromagnetic offense and defense, and steadily enhancing actual combat capability through repeated realistic combat training. A certain brigade of the Xinjiang Military District has joined with neighboring Air Force units to routinely conduct joint exercises and training, opening up command links and sharing air situation awareness, achieving full-element joint action and integrated resistance in fire strikes… Each unit has abandoned the concept and practice of "fighting independently and going it alone," proactively breaking down barriers between services and branches and clearing coordination bottlenecks, driving the overall quality improvement and comprehensive effectiveness enhancement of new-quality combat capability generation.

Once, this snow-covered plateau was a "forbidden zone for life" that inspired dread; today, it has become a "forge of soldiers" (砺兵高地) that drives units' combat readiness training to go deeper and become more substantive. Through exercise after exercise and charge after charge, units stationed on the plateau have set their sights on the laws governing the generation of new-quality combat capabilities, continuously breaking free from fixed mindsets, and making solid efforts toward what is new and strong, exploring methods and pathways to liberate and develop new-quality combat capabilities. "Although it is bitterly cold, oxygen-deficient, and environmentally harsh here, our confidence in winning battles is growing stronger and stronger!" said one high-altitude soldier.
